The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded Kainos, a leading digital technology company, a three-year contract worth £50 million to enhance and evolve its Defence Data Analytics Platform (DDAP). Additionally, Kainos will provide ongoing support for end-users across the MoD including the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force and other MoD Support Organisations to transition to the platform.

Adarga Vantage provides analysts, planners, and commanders with the ability to extract, contextualise, and connect information drawn from millions of internal and external sources, in over 75 languages, to enhance defence and security operations. This includes providing search, discovery, and Generative AI capabilities to augment enterprise knowledge and open-source intelligence gathering, and boost decision-making in multi-domain environments.

Autonomous Ocean Core is a control system versatile across all naval platforms that enables un-crewed and autonomous systems to work in a safe and predictable way—on the surface and underwater. The demonstration will highlight a sample of mission-sets enabled by Saab’s Autonomous Ocean Core integrated with the capabilities of our partners. Autonomous Ocean Core enables un-crewed vessels to operate on Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR), electronic warfare, assault, mine countermeasures, search and rescue, and logistics missions. 

The UK Defence Drone Strategy will create a unified approach across all three military services and industry to enable the rapid experimentation, testing, evaluation and procurement of uncrewed platforms. BAE Systems who recently announced the acquisition of Malloy Aeronautics have invested in uncrewed systems across land, sea and air domains for many years and the new strategy is an important next step.
